Bunny!

Here are some new photos of our little bunny, which is her nickname Robert gave her. She is so active and happy right now it is so much fun. She loves looking around at everything and when she sees your face she smiles so big that you feel so good! :) She has started putting everything in her mouth and drooling all over whatever she can get in there! She also is just talking and talking. You can lay her down by herself and she will just look around and talk to herself forever. She also really loves standing up and when you hold her and make her dance around she smiles and laughs so hard it's so funny to watch! It's really been fun watching how much she's changing. She's even trying her hardest to sit up and roll over, but not yet! Another thing she loves is taking baths! She would take a bath every single day if she could. She gets so happy in the water and since the tub is on the sink by the mirror, she just stares at herself in the "other tub" and talks and smiles at herself. It is so fun to watch how much she enjoys it. She is such a happy baby and we are SO LUCKY.

Long time no post

Save the Date Baptism - April 22nd

We picked April 22nd to have Alexya's baptism...evite soon to come.

We also had her 2 month (10wk) checkup today at the doctor (this is the one where she gets all her shots)...poor girl. She was so upset while getting the shots that she went crazy screaming and crying and we felt so bad for her! She was very scared...hopefully she's not traumatized now! We gave her tylenol drops and daddy rocked her to sleep....so we will see how she is within the next 48 hours...hopefully not too fussy, but if so it's totally understandable. Other than the shots, her checkup went fine and she is a whoping 11lbs 10oz now and almost 2ft tall (1'11''). I put her first height mark on her wall chart...weird because she doesn't look that tall because she is usually bunched up in a ball in your arms. Anyway, after examining her and talking to her (she was so cute babbling away at him) the doc says she is "perfectly healthy" and "very strong" That's my girl!!!

Visiting with Friends

So it looks like the video clip doesn't work...bummer because it is so cute watching her play. Anyway, here are more pictures of the little chica... Lexy in her car seat (which is funny that she's smiling in this picture because she's decided she hates it right now)








Lexy visiting her friend Thomas, Catherine's baby boy, at his house. He was so cute trying to rock her in her car seat and showing her his toys. He kept staring at her then looking at us and smiling and then getting super excited and running around and then coming back and rocking her again. At one point I was changing her diaper on this cushion of his and he runs over and moves her blanket out of the way so he can lie down on in next to her. It was so cute!!

I have no idea if this is going to work...but if it does it will be so cool!! I recorded Alexya playing in her gym because she was having so much fun (as usual) and I wanted everyone to get a chance to see it...hopefully it will work and you can!
Anyway, I just want to say that she is changing so fast that I'm freaking out! Her facial expressions and noises she makes and her movements are all changing every day and I'm filled with combination excitement and sad sort of because everyone is right! It Does "go by so fast!" The good part is that I'm so totally in love with this baby. She is my favorite baby EVER and I just can't get enough of her. She's just this mini person who is trying so hard to learn what she can do and is soooo cute doing it it's so fun to watch! We went to visit my work the other day and all my coworkers and Alexya even smiled at some of them, Rose!, which was so super cute! It was totally weird bringing her in there because I wanted everyone to get a chance to see her, but it was really hot in there and we were both so hot that we weren't comfortable...it would be cool if there was like a big room (with A/C) that I could bring Lexy in and put her gym on the floor or something so everyone could take turns holding and playing with her...but Hello, get real, that's not going to happen. So at least everyone got to glimpse her... I didn't realize how many people I totally miss from work until I went back to visit! I think more of them should make the trip out to Antioch!! Come on people! It's not That Far. :) Missy did it! :) 

Hello Baby Face-Goodbye newborn face

Our first visit to the park with Lexy...Here she is lying in the shade...we had fun playing and going on the swings (with mommy holding her of course).
Here's one that my step brother Jason took of her...what a model!!...and no you can't steal her from me cause I know that's what you're thinking! :)
This is Lexy in her new baby gym. She loves to stare at her bird that moves and the tiny dragonfly and butterfly that hang from above. She also has figured out how to kick at the toys to make them make noise and she waves and swings her arms around...so yes, now I know why they call this a gym! She gets quite a workout!

Happy Girl

So a day in the life of miss Alexya Hernandez goes as follows... I eat, poop, sleep and then I'm awake and I want to talk to you. She has become the most talkative cooing baby overnight. Suddenly this little 8wk old has discovered that people think she's cute and so whenever someone is standing over her while she is lying on her back, she looks up at them and just starts talking...obviously not real words, but alot of vowel sounds like "eye, oh oooooh, and eee" and her little mouth starts working and contorting in funny ways with her tounge sticking out then in then moving all around...it's hilarious. She even has figured out a way to laugh which sounds like when you have finished a big laugh and you kinda gasp for air real quick...not sure how to explain the sound exactly, but she just sucks in air real quick with her mouth in a smile and it makes a funny noise. It's so cute!!! What a little personality already. OH and if you leave the room and she's alone she'll figure it out and yell out real loud once...like "hey, where'd you go?" So funny. Another thing she loves is her swing!! Thank you aunt Mary!!!! It's like she craves it..you can be holding her and she will start fussing and kicking and squirming around and then you put her in the swing and Bam! she's out cold!! Even in the middle of the night after she eats sometimes she's wide awake and it's like 3am so we're half asleep and so we put her in her swing and she just stares wide awake at her little bird and the lights until she passes out. It's so nice.
We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa last wednesday and had a fun visit. Here's Lexy cuddling with Grandpa, they took a quick nap. She loved all the attention and got to meet her uncle Jason and his wife Charlie. Everyone wanted to hold her so she was in heaven. She also got to see a dog smaller than Toretto! They are moving into their new home so this will probably be the last visit to the old house.
Thank you Aunt Therese and Uncle Scott and Jennifer and Brooke for the new favorite toy. Lexy loves this thing. It lights up and plays classical music and she loves staring at it and trying to push the button.
Here's a pic of Lexy with her Aunt Erica...what a natural! By the way, this is from Erica's visit like 3 weeks ago and Lexy doesn't even fit this outfit anymore!!!!! So sad, all her cute newborn outfits are too small now...but, now she fits into her cute 0-3 month outfits so it's ok. :) 

Cuter Every Day!!

Is it possible for her to be getting cuter every single day???!!! I swear, I am falling so in love with this little girl and each day I think..I can't possibly love her any more than I do today, she is so cute...and then I think the same thing the next day! She is changing so FAST that I am amazed at the new things she does and the new expressions she has each day. What a personality already. When she is happy...she is cooing and smiling and just stares at you with the happiest possible expression on her face and her little arms and hands waving around while her little legs are kicking out like she's trying to ride a skateboard or something. When she is mad...look out world, because she can scream louder than you would think can come out of this little bundle! She definately is learning what she likes and doesn't like already and already is deciding which music she likes...which is reggae and jack johnson right now. We are totally having fun trying to guess what she will be like when she gets older...like what type of personality she is going to have. We have kind of come to an agreement on what we think. We think she is going to definately know what and who she likes and doesn't like and she's not going to be afraid to say what she thinks. She's going to have mom's fiestyness (according to robert) and dad's heart (according to me). hehehehe sounds like fun! We will have to wait and see.... Anyway, I put a picture of Robert's successful attempt at giving her the bottle..the first time didn't go so well, but she will have to get used to it once I go back to work so we are trying to introduce it once in a while for now.

Happy New Year 2007!

Our New Year's eve was very low key...just a visit from grandpa Mike and aunt Lauryn aka aunt lo lo. We had fun watching football, eating chinese food and making a cake. Unfortunately, we didn't stay up for the new year....boooooo, but we did get up at 3am for a feeding and diaper change...yaaaaaa!
Alexya took a spin in her swing for the first time...looks like she likes it! Please notice the awesome Raiders pacifier...that's right...and the Raiders football clip to keep it from falling on the ground. No playoffs this year, but she's die hard ya know.

Sorry about the red eye, but this was such a cute picture! She's making the cutest expressions now and she even said her first word!!..... well, ok maybe you won't consider it a word, but she yells "eye" at the top of her lungs so we're counting it!
