Our Christmas Hero...Toretto

I wanted to put up some cute pictures of Alexya in her Christmas dress, but I have to just tell everyone about what happened the day before Christmas eve. Robert was out in the front yard putting up Christmas lights on the house with Toretto in the front yard when a Pitt bull got out of it's yard and came running down the street towards our house. The dog ran up to Toretto and when Robert grabbed his collar to take him inside, the pitt bull lunged at them and Toretto had to defend them. The two dogs got into a huge terrible fight and there was blood everywhere. I ran outside when I heard the fight and it was the most horrible thing you can imagine....to see my other baby and all this blood and not be able to stop it was the worst feeling in the world. The dogs fought what felt like forever and the pitt bull's owner was just standing there watching, while robert calls off toretto (he actually listened and came to robert, only to be attacked again from behind), and says "I can't control my dog." Finally, the pitt bull had latched on to toretto's neck underneath his jaw and toretto had his huge mouth over the pitt bull's face and Robert was able to grab toretto by the back of the neck and was kicking the pitt bull and pulling on his harness and finally pulled them apart and hands the dog to his owner. The guy kept saying sorry as he dragged his dog away, but honestly, after examining Toretto he actually came out of it ok. He had all this blood all over him, but none of it was his...he only had some scrape on his lip and I guess the pitt bull didn't have a good grip on his neck because robert was able to pull him right off. So, lucky for us, Toretto is totally fine (I can't say the same for the pitt bull, and I can't say that I'm sorry about that either).

What a hero! He totally defended his family and did a good job! I can't tell everyone how something this traumatic, especially around Christmas, can just make you really thankfull and truely appreciate the true meaning of the holiday...Family! We are so thankful that our family is safe and healthy and Lexy is truely lucky to have a big brother who will defend and protect her and her mom and dad from harm!

Lots of Visitors...Lucky Girl!

Here's some pictures I took of some of the many visitors that Alexya has had over the past 3 weeks....there were so many ..and I was too tired to remember to take pictures of some people that I wanted to ....so if you came by and have pics that you took and can send them to me..I will put them up here! :)

Thank you everyone for coming to visit Lexy and for the many wonderful cards/gifts and awesome comments that you've posted here on the blog! I don't know how many times I've been so touched by a card or a comment on here that I've cried!! Everyone has been so nice and caring and just made this whole experience of having a new little baby girl amazing!! We are so lucky to have friends and family like we do that just add to the love and excitement of this moment in our lives! Thank you!!!!!

For christmas we are going to stop by Uncle (great uncle) John's house for a few hours and visit everyone who is there. Unfortunately, Robert has to work Christmas day, but Lexy and I and Uncle Caleb and Aunt Lauryn and grandpa mike are coming....oh and I think Aunt Candice too! Also, If you haven't already stopped by or want to come again, please do!! I don't mind visitors if they are willing to change a diaper and bring me a peppermint mocha from starbucks. ;)

Also, I'm looking into the date for Aleyxa's baptism, so I will put it up here when i get all the details sorted out. Once again, thank you everyone and have a wonderful Christmas!

Alexya is Born! November 27th 8:28am

She finally made it!! After going into labor saturday morning and having it last through the night and into sunday and then finally getting to the hospital sunday around 3:30 (I will spare you the details of horrible contraction pain and vomiting), I had Alexya on Monday morning at 8:28am after 2hours and 45 min of pushing!! Holy crap was this a hard weekend of baby delivoring. We both had fevers because the labor was so freaking long, but we are both fine now. Robert was the best coach, helping me throught the worst pain in my life and fighting total exhaustion, to keep me sain and help me push out our baby girl! I couldn't have made it through without him and I swear, I love him so much I can't even put it into words and i'm crying right now just thinking about how much I love him. Sorry for the mushyness, but I just have to make sure everyone knows how I feel and now I'm done. :) So the little bundle was born 7lbs 11oz and 20.5 in long. She has Robert's ears, nose, and basically entire face and has my hands and feet! After spending monday and tues night in the hospital they released us wed afternoon and wed night was our first night at home and it was horrible!! Constant crying and no sleep. But, the weird thing is....that I swear, someone switched our baby because thursday morning until now (sat night) she has not cryed once!! Seriously..i'm totaly jinxing it i know, but she is just the happiest little baby in the world!!! She doesn't cry when you change her or even when we bathed her... she just sleeps and eats and poops and when she is awake she just stares at you and looks around totally happy! Like I said I'm totally jinxing it I realize this, but I'm just telling it how it's been so far. More updates to come! I have to go lie down now...i'm tired.

one more pic

Sorry, this one didn't load with the rest.... Posted by Picasa

It's finally done!

I'm so excited because her room and bathroom are finally finished!! I put some pics here of her crib and dresser again (with the onesies I framed from the baby shower) and you can see the A's border in one of the pics and the A's mobile in this one. Obviously the bathroom theme is duckies! You can see the changing table in the reflection of the mirror in the picture. So cute!

So now that everything is set, we are totally ready for her to come out! I am still super huge and my stupid sciatica pain is back...which means i'm seriously waddling around now. And on top of this i keep having contractions! The braxton-hicks contractions, which are getting way more painful and frequent. I seriously thought last night that I was going into labor because they were super strong and wouldn't stop coming...but then all of a sudden..they stopped. What the heck is going on??!!! She is such a tease! :)
Anyway, I will keep updating everyone and don't worry I have a call list which robert's mom, Theresa, is in charge of to call everyone (or at least someone who will call you :)) once Alexya is officially here! November or December Baby???? Place all bets now! :)

The Countdown!!

Sorry it's been a while since my/our last update. I promise to put up pics of Alexya's room once it's done...it's almost done we just need to build the crib and the glider chair and then all done! Oh and once the bathroom is done that too...
So, just an FYI to any preggos out there planning on maternity leave...if I didn't mention it before I have to mention it now because I just got my money finally from my company's insurance...only like 2 months after I filed the claim..but, better late than never! Good thing the state didn't take even half as long or we would have bill collectors after us! Let me just tell you that it was a huge back and forth battle of we need this...ok now we need this...ok now can you give us a DNA sample and your first born and your kidneys and then maybe we will send you the money we owe you...since after all, you've been paying for this policy every month and now you actually need to use it. Sorry, but I had to vent.
Robert has been working so hard lately, for the past month, picking up extra shifts and working overtime, he's been doing 70 hr work weeks and is so tired. But at least it helps him feel better that somehow he's contributing to the coming of our baby girl..since I'm just lying around with a big fat belly all day! ;)
Last update is I had a doctor visit today...and you know those always have something fun to talk about afterwards...So he's listening to her heartbeat and goes "do you feel that? You're having a contraction." "Holy crap! what?!" I say. So he laughs and tells me that I'm having a braxton hicks contraction and I can tell if I notice that my stomach is all hardened up. And I had no idea that's what that was...I've been feeling this for at least a month now and had just assumed that it was Lexy pushing really hard with her butt or something! So I asked if this means that I'm getting close because I'm having them like everyday sometimes 4-5 times a day and he says................. no. Boooooooooooooooooo! I also asked if I didn't feel these contractions, am I going to feel the ones when I go into labor?? (hey I had to ask..what if I miss them) and he laughed at me and said, yes I will definately know because those ones will be accompanied by pain. Ok, just checking people.
Oh and PS. I've gained a total of 45 pounds!!!! I'm officially at the big 180 now! geeze!

Here's Alexya's dresser...complete with A's knobs (look closely).
Here's a pic of Lexy's basinet, a gift from Grandma Theresa and decorated by mommy and missy! The blanket inside is the one my grandma made for Alexya (A's colors) and of course the little green elephant! Posted by Picasa

On Maternity Leave Already!

Sorry it's been about a month since my last update...things have been so stressful and crazy that I haven't had time. To make a long story short, I was having this sharp pain in my stomach and the doctor said it was probably a pulled ligament (and that I did it somehow...ya right doc..you should feel Alexya in there doing her yoga!! It wasn't me!). Anyway, lying down seems to take the pressure off of it and I feel much better, so with that issue and my horrible commute (which he was concerned about from the begining) he told me to go out on maternity leave now. I kind of freaked out because it was very unexpected and I had a ton of stuff to do at work..right in the middle of Spring 07 plans..and not knowing how we will be able to afford my pay being cut down to 60% on disability etc.... Like I said..lots of stress.
Anyway, things are working out and I'm resting and calming down. Alexya is oblivious to all of this and is still kicking and stretching the crap out of me!! At least now I am able to be lying down and enjoying the whole baby in the belly thing instead of yelling at her to "stop hurting mommy while she's trying to work" thing.
The weirdest parts now that she is so big and active is that my belly is basically see through (not literally clear) but it's like my skin is so thin and rubbery that you can see every single movement like her foot or feet kicking hard or pushing out. Also, she gets the hiccups every single day...which feels like a small muscle spasm or eye twitch, just inside your belly. Really weird and they get uncomfortable the longer they last. Oh and the last weird thing is that I can feel her hand grabbing or like when you drum your fingers when you're bored, kinda tickling me on the inside of my hip. So crazy..that actually feels good and ...ready for this....doesn't Hurt! :)
The last doctor visit I had he did an ultrasound and I could see her belly moving up and down like she was breathing...and he said that's a good sign and that's her way of practice breathing. Also, she was kicking at the thing again and he was all excited again about how much she moves and I'm just like..yep, movement is definately Not an issue with this chick.

Here are a couple pictures I just wanted to add of the baby shower...I will add one of me soon I promise..my belly is the size of a large pumpkin..so maybe I will paint it for halloween...hehehe

She's Gonna Play Sports!

I just wanted to put in a funny update/story....

I went to the Doctor yesterday for my routine checkup and he was feeling her size and checking my weight etc... The other thing he checks is her heart beat with this device that's stronger than a stethescope, but I forget what the heck it's called. Anyway, he's putting it on my belly and moving it around to find her heart beat and he finally finds it and we're listening to it go swoosh swoosh swoosh swoosh, all strong and normal, and then all of a sudden she kicks at the the thing so hard that it goes "boom" real loud and bounces it off my belly! My doctor was so surprised and goes "she just kicked me!" and starts laughing so hard that I started laughing too! It was so cute! She really is an animal I tell you...so now that i gave you an example you have to believe me now! :)

Post Baby Shower Update

Here are some of the pictures from the baby shower! The one with Robert and the stroller doesn't show you that he was popping a wheelie with it! :) Anyway, I had a great time and I hope everyone else did too! Thank you Candice for doing an outstanding job organizing and planning everything! It was better than I could have ever imagined! The games were fun and the presents were amazing and the massage at the end was.....so... relaxing.... :)
I'm almost done with all the thank you cards..so start checking your mailboxes next week! :)
We went and bought the dresser for Alexya's room and put the A's knobs on it and it looks so cute!! I put all the stuffed animals she got on top of it and the block letters of her name that Erica gave us. It really looks like a baby's room now! ...but it's not done..as soon as it's done I will post a picture I promise.
The last update is the actual baby update. Long story short...she is an animal in my belly. She moves around so much that it wakes me up at night and actually hurts me sometimes! She moves so much that when she is not moving..I get worried, but then two seconds later..she moves so I'm ok. ;) The funny thing is that we bought her this lullaby thing from Target that plays songs ...well I put it on my stomach and play the music for her when she is going crazy and she will stop moving. The thing shuts off after 10 minutes and when it shuts off then she kicks my stomach in the spot where the thing is resting on it!! So crazy! She is so smart already I tell you!! I'm excited to meet her!
Oh ya, and Raiders have won all 3 preseason games and the A's are in 1st place!! Ye-ah Oaktown! :)

Pool Party Shower

Hopefully it will not be as hot as it has been this week, but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up (even though you probably heard from Candice already) that the shower is going to also be a pool party so bring your swimsuits!!

Also, I got measured last week again and I'm now 36'' around my belly! My stomach is freakin huge and I can't stop staring at it in the mirror! At least I'm not crying about it...well not this week.... so if you come to the shower you will get a sneak peak at the belly in full effect in a swimsuit!

Last thing is the movement update. At first it was so cute and weird to feel the tiny little movement....but now, geeze! This chick is flipping around and moving all over the place. She is moving so much that I'm getting distracted in meetings and it's even strong enough for Robert to feel it already! Pretty crazy...but I knew this was going to happen after I saw her flip out on the ultrasound screens! Hopefully I will survive as she gets bigger and stronger!!!

Pictures of Cuties!

Ok So obviously I just learned how to add pictures! But I just wanted to put these two on here...
One, to show my beautiful not-so-little sister, Candice when we were at her "congrats on becoming a State Farm agent" lunch. Two, to show me and my preggo belly with my Amy when we went to finally visit her and Doug and see their new house and puppy!
