one more pic

Sorry, this one didn't load with the rest.... Posted by Picasa

It's finally done!

I'm so excited because her room and bathroom are finally finished!! I put some pics here of her crib and dresser again (with the onesies I framed from the baby shower) and you can see the A's border in one of the pics and the A's mobile in this one. Obviously the bathroom theme is duckies! You can see the changing table in the reflection of the mirror in the picture. So cute!

So now that everything is set, we are totally ready for her to come out! I am still super huge and my stupid sciatica pain is back...which means i'm seriously waddling around now. And on top of this i keep having contractions! The braxton-hicks contractions, which are getting way more painful and frequent. I seriously thought last night that I was going into labor because they were super strong and wouldn't stop coming...but then all of a sudden..they stopped. What the heck is going on??!!! She is such a tease! :)
Anyway, I will keep updating everyone and don't worry I have a call list which robert's mom, Theresa, is in charge of to call everyone (or at least someone who will call you :)) once Alexya is officially here! November or December Baby???? Place all bets now! :)

The Countdown!!

Sorry it's been a while since my/our last update. I promise to put up pics of Alexya's room once it's done...it's almost done we just need to build the crib and the glider chair and then all done! Oh and once the bathroom is done that too...
So, just an FYI to any preggos out there planning on maternity leave...if I didn't mention it before I have to mention it now because I just got my money finally from my company's insurance...only like 2 months after I filed the claim..but, better late than never! Good thing the state didn't take even half as long or we would have bill collectors after us! Let me just tell you that it was a huge back and forth battle of we need this...ok now we need this...ok now can you give us a DNA sample and your first born and your kidneys and then maybe we will send you the money we owe you...since after all, you've been paying for this policy every month and now you actually need to use it. Sorry, but I had to vent.
Robert has been working so hard lately, for the past month, picking up extra shifts and working overtime, he's been doing 70 hr work weeks and is so tired. But at least it helps him feel better that somehow he's contributing to the coming of our baby girl..since I'm just lying around with a big fat belly all day! ;)
Last update is I had a doctor visit today...and you know those always have something fun to talk about afterwards...So he's listening to her heartbeat and goes "do you feel that? You're having a contraction." "Holy crap! what?!" I say. So he laughs and tells me that I'm having a braxton hicks contraction and I can tell if I notice that my stomach is all hardened up. And I had no idea that's what that was...I've been feeling this for at least a month now and had just assumed that it was Lexy pushing really hard with her butt or something! So I asked if this means that I'm getting close because I'm having them like everyday sometimes 4-5 times a day and he says................. no. Boooooooooooooooooo! I also asked if I didn't feel these contractions, am I going to feel the ones when I go into labor?? (hey I had to ask..what if I miss them) and he laughed at me and said, yes I will definately know because those ones will be accompanied by pain. Ok, just checking people.
Oh and PS. I've gained a total of 45 pounds!!!! I'm officially at the big 180 now! geeze!

Pics of Belly and Lexy's stuff

Here's a pic of my huge belly!
Here's a pic of Robert helping to hold up my heavy belly!
Here's Alexya's dresser...complete with A's knobs (look closely).
Here's a pic of Lexy's basinet, a gift from Grandma Theresa and decorated by mommy and missy! The blanket inside is the one my grandma made for Alexya (A's colors) and of course the little green elephant! Posted by Picasa

On Maternity Leave Already!

Sorry it's been about a month since my last update...things have been so stressful and crazy that I haven't had time. To make a long story short, I was having this sharp pain in my stomach and the doctor said it was probably a pulled ligament (and that I did it somehow...ya right doc..you should feel Alexya in there doing her yoga!! It wasn't me!). Anyway, lying down seems to take the pressure off of it and I feel much better, so with that issue and my horrible commute (which he was concerned about from the begining) he told me to go out on maternity leave now. I kind of freaked out because it was very unexpected and I had a ton of stuff to do at work..right in the middle of Spring 07 plans..and not knowing how we will be able to afford my pay being cut down to 60% on disability etc.... Like I said..lots of stress.
Anyway, things are working out and I'm resting and calming down. Alexya is oblivious to all of this and is still kicking and stretching the crap out of me!! At least now I am able to be lying down and enjoying the whole baby in the belly thing instead of yelling at her to "stop hurting mommy while she's trying to work" thing.
The weirdest parts now that she is so big and active is that my belly is basically see through (not literally clear) but it's like my skin is so thin and rubbery that you can see every single movement like her foot or feet kicking hard or pushing out. Also, she gets the hiccups every single day...which feels like a small muscle spasm or eye twitch, just inside your belly. Really weird and they get uncomfortable the longer they last. Oh and the last weird thing is that I can feel her hand grabbing or like when you drum your fingers when you're bored, kinda tickling me on the inside of my hip. So crazy..that actually feels good and ...ready for this....doesn't Hurt! :)
The last doctor visit I had he did an ultrasound and I could see her belly moving up and down like she was breathing...and he said that's a good sign and that's her way of practice breathing. Also, she was kicking at the thing again and he was all excited again about how much she moves and I'm just like..yep, movement is definately Not an issue with this chick.

Here are a couple pictures I just wanted to add of the baby shower...I will add one of me soon I promise..my belly is the size of a large pumpkin..so maybe I will paint it for halloween...hehehe

She's Gonna Play Sports!

I just wanted to put in a funny update/story....

I went to the Doctor yesterday for my routine checkup and he was feeling her size and checking my weight etc... The other thing he checks is her heart beat with this device that's stronger than a stethescope, but I forget what the heck it's called. Anyway, he's putting it on my belly and moving it around to find her heart beat and he finally finds it and we're listening to it go swoosh swoosh swoosh swoosh, all strong and normal, and then all of a sudden she kicks at the the thing so hard that it goes "boom" real loud and bounces it off my belly! My doctor was so surprised and goes "she just kicked me!" and starts laughing so hard that I started laughing too! It was so cute! She really is an animal I tell you...so now that i gave you an example you have to believe me now! :)

Post Baby Shower Update

Here are some of the pictures from the baby shower! The one with Robert and the stroller doesn't show you that he was popping a wheelie with it! :) Anyway, I had a great time and I hope everyone else did too! Thank you Candice for doing an outstanding job organizing and planning everything! It was better than I could have ever imagined! The games were fun and the presents were amazing and the massage at the end was.....so... relaxing.... :)
I'm almost done with all the thank you cards..so start checking your mailboxes next week! :)
We went and bought the dresser for Alexya's room and put the A's knobs on it and it looks so cute!! I put all the stuffed animals she got on top of it and the block letters of her name that Erica gave us. It really looks like a baby's room now! ...but it's not done..as soon as it's done I will post a picture I promise.
The last update is the actual baby update. Long story short...she is an animal in my belly. She moves around so much that it wakes me up at night and actually hurts me sometimes! She moves so much that when she is not moving..I get worried, but then two seconds later..she moves so I'm ok. ;) The funny thing is that we bought her this lullaby thing from Target that plays songs ...well I put it on my stomach and play the music for her when she is going crazy and she will stop moving. The thing shuts off after 10 minutes and when it shuts off then she kicks my stomach in the spot where the thing is resting on it!! So crazy! She is so smart already I tell you!! I'm excited to meet her!
Oh ya, and Raiders have won all 3 preseason games and the A's are in 1st place!! Ye-ah Oaktown! :)

Pool Party Shower

Hopefully it will not be as hot as it has been this week, but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up (even though you probably heard from Candice already) that the shower is going to also be a pool party so bring your swimsuits!!

Also, I got measured last week again and I'm now 36'' around my belly! My stomach is freakin huge and I can't stop staring at it in the mirror! At least I'm not crying about it...well not this week.... so if you come to the shower you will get a sneak peak at the belly in full effect in a swimsuit!

Last thing is the movement update. At first it was so cute and weird to feel the tiny little movement....but now, geeze! This chick is flipping around and moving all over the place. She is moving so much that I'm getting distracted in meetings and it's even strong enough for Robert to feel it already! Pretty crazy...but I knew this was going to happen after I saw her flip out on the ultrasound screens! Hopefully I will survive as she gets bigger and stronger!!!

Pictures of Cuties!

Ok So obviously I just learned how to add pictures! But I just wanted to put these two on here...
One, to show my beautiful not-so-little sister, Candice when we were at her "congrats on becoming a State Farm agent" lunch. Two, to show me and my preggo belly with my Amy when we went to finally visit her and Doug and see their new house and puppy!

Baby Lexy

I will try to add pictures of my growing belly soon. I just can't find one that I like...

We went to another A's game and had a great time. Robert had a bunch of his peeps from work join us...AMR was in the house! and Candice and Missy and Chris came too. Missy made me a t-shirt that was so cute! It was white and had, in green letters, written across my chest "Big A's Fan" and then across my belly "little A's fan". It was freakin cute!! :)

Also, I finally felt Lexy move! It was so weird because I was lying down in bed at night and I felt this sensation like a big bubble moving and then I freaked out and then waited and I felt it again! I was so excited! Especially since the day before I had a nervous breakdown because I discovered that my stomach is freakin humongous!!! I burst into tears and Robert came running in and asked what's wrong...and I told him...my stomach is gigantic!!!! and kept crying hysterically...and he started laughing at me...so I cried even harder. Hormones are fantastic let me tell you....

Alexya Hernandez

Thank you to Debbie for updating my blog with the good news! We were in shock when we heard the doctor say it was a girl...because all of the old wives tales (you know the ones where if you carry low it's a boy or if you don't have much morning sickness it's a boy etc.) pointed to it being a boy. Well, we all learned a valuable lesson...don't listen to the old wives because they are wrong! :)

It was cool to see Alexya in the ultrasound again...and once again she was wiggling and squirming and spinning around so much that the doctor even scolded her with "stop moving. Where are you trying to go? There's no where for you to go!" I was laughing because this chick is always thrashing around on the screen! Thank goodness I can't feel anything yet! She will definately be playing sports...so her aunt Lauryn can teach her soccer and basketball, and maybe Lauryn and Jenna can teach her some volleyball. We are currently taking volunteers to teach her softball.....(john or grandpa mike??) I will do my best to make sure she watches enough sports center.

Well, another update is that Candice came over last thursday and helped Robert paint the baby's room and then Caleb came over the next day and helped Robert finish it. It looks so beautiful in all it's honey yellow glory..now we are just waiting to put up the A's border and get some green bedding and white furniture in there!....Who's buying her the A's mobile??!!?? :)

We went to Clearlake on Saturday just for the day for the 4th of July celebration. We got there late so we missed the parade, but we got to take Toretto for another swim in the lake and he had a blast! I also got to model my giagantic belly in all it's glory and take a dip in the lake..which felt so weird by the way. I couldn't really get comfortable showing the world my belly so I kept it covered most of the time...but Cheryl saw me w/o my cover on and came running over and told me that I looked great..like a movie star because that's the in thing right now to be pregnant and show your belly in a swimsuit..so I felt so much better! Grandpa and John BBQed hamburgers and hotdogs and we had a huge feast on the lake and played cards. We all had a great time..too bad it was a short visit. Toretto and I slept the entire day yesterday to recover. :)

Another Update! ~ 18 weeks

Hey everyone! So my bellly has grown another 1 1/2 inches and is now 36 1/2 inches! Woo-Hoo! I get full so quickly when I eat and I feel like there is no room for the food to go...even with this huge belly! What the heck is in there anyway!!??? The baby is only 5 inches long at this point and est. weight is 1/2 pound. I go for my big visit next wednesday to find out the sex!! I can't wait..i'm counting down the hours! Antonio or Alexya???? Place all bets now..odds are 50/50.

So on a crappy note...I got rear ended in my Acura on my way to work last Tuesday morning. So stupid. The lady just wasn't paying attention and I was stopped at the stop sign and she just rammed me. I think I freaked her out when I got out of my car w/my big belly! haha! Anyway, her insurance is going to take care of the estimated $940 damage. And don't worry your pretty little heads because I'm fine! :) And the baby is fine! :)

Debbie is in Rome right now...she's been there all week and I really miss her! Work is not the same without her spazing out around me and making me laugh! Candice is in Chicago right now for a week visiting her friend...I miss her already too. Sushuma is still in Seattle (duh she lives there) and I miss her.... Ok really I just miss everyone!! Come visit me! :)

I See Lips!!

So lots of updates.... first things first...I threw up on the bart train on the way to work last friday and that was disgusting and traumatic let me tell you! No more public transporation until after I have the baby.

I also want to announce that we finally registered!! We are registered at Target and at Sears and there could be more things added once we find out the sex, but feel free to check it out and tell me how cute you think the stuff is!!! I freakin love it! I found this light green bedding with white elephants to match perfectly with the A's theme! Ye-ah Boooyyy! Oh, and also an A's mobile for the crib! What-What!!

Obviously my hormones are out of control...so bare with me because at any minute I might get angry and yell at you for no reason other than I'm uncomfortable and I have no idea why! Super. Another exciting detail is that at my doctor visit yesterday I got to see my little angel again and you can totally see the profile of his/her face! Nose, eyes, even lips! I think this is the best picture I have. Also, in one of the pics you can see the legs are bent and his/her feet are resting on my bladder...ya, so please be nice and don't kick mommy's bladder.

Well, that's if for now....oh, i'm going to my dad's graduation tomorrow...so the baby can hear grandpa graduate from college! :) Oh, I also took my unborn to his/her first A's game courtesy of my aunt Denise who happened to have and offer us free tickets!! Many more games to come...I can't wait to take him/her to his/her first Raiders game!! That will be so much fun! :)

Decorate the Baby's Room!

I found this site that has EVERYTHING I want and more to decorate the baby's room! It's full of Oakland A's merchandise including .... an A's wall clock, an A's baseball shaped rug, an A's piggy bank, A's wallpaper border, A's fuzzy dice and more! Now if only I could find an A's rocking chair! :)

My mother-in-law, Theresa, already found us some A's dresser drawer knobs! And Trish, Caleb's girlfriend, already made us an A's baby blanket! Lauryn even made us the baby's initials "A&H" carved out of wood and painted in yellow and green! So perfect! This is going to be the best baby's room ever! What a lucky kid. :) The A's totally need to win this season...it's meant to be.

Save the Date

I just wanted to give you all a heads up as to when the baby shower will be so you can save the date on your calendars. It will be on Saturday, August 12th and it will be for girls only. Don't worry, Robert is having a seperate get-together/BBQ for the boys.

The end of the 1st Trimester

So I just wanted to give a quick update... I'm officially "showing" that is I have a stomach that I never had before and it's totally weird! I also have two other things that I never had (this size) before that I'm totally LOVING! ;) But, ya, let me just tell you that I can't walk down the hallway at work without people staring and oohing at my belly...I'm not used to so much attention!..this could be really fun!

Other than that I'm having insane cravings for cheese, lemonade, and yes...cheeseburgers!!! I could eat cheeseburgers for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The cravings are something to get used to...but let me tell you...satisfying a pregnant craving is HEAVEN ON EARTH! Bring on the cravings!!:)
