The Biker Chick

Alexya has finally mastered riding on her bike push toy that Catherine and Thomas let us borrow. She likes to put her drink in the front basket and then do tricks on it like you can see in the picture...she likes to ride on it and sit on it backwards and now stand on it like the trick bike riders do! Such a crazy chica.

She also likes to throw her hands in the air and look hard...."ye-ah bo-y" "dat'swadi'mtalkinbout" ok, you get the point and i'm a nerd....but she is so so cool... ;)

Oh, and please check out the super cool Raiders beenie that she got from grandma and grandpa hernandez! She loves to wear it when I don't have time to do her hair.
She also can now throw her hands up in the air and make the "touchdown sign" when you say "touchdown" ...I've been working w/her on this for the past few months and she's finally got it...just in time for the superbowl! :) that's my girl!

the ones that got away...

Here are some of the pics that I wanted to put up, but just never made the cut. Watch as she goes from really cute...to really scary!

Here she is feeding the kitty...

Here she is in her super cute sweater dress that Missy gave her and super cute animal slippers that daddy bought her. She is very busy organizing her toys here.....now get ready, and don't view the next picture w/o bracing yourself first....

I'm not sure if she's upset at what she's wearing...or... the hair...
...but just know that she isn't happy all the time...she does have her moments and it sure is fun to catch them on film!

The Double Fister - lexy updates

My little girl loves her fluids! She has to have one cup with "agua" (water) and one with "leche con jugo" (milk w/ some orange juice in it...otherwise she won't drink it...i know..sounds gross). She will carry both cups around and drink from one then the other and then set one down and carry one around for a sec before going back to get it because it's more fun to carry two. She loves carrying things (not just the heavy things like before) like as many as she can to see if she can balance with all the stuff she has in her hands.
Also, she is making the cutest sort-of-words that don't sound like any actual word, but we are starting to understand what she means. Robert imitates her perfectly with this one sound she does that means she wants that. And she likes to raise her voice and point at Toretto to tell him to be quiet or lie down. Pretty much all he hears is "a-da-da-da-da-da!" with a tiny finger pointing at him, but he gets the point and lies down. He's a very good boy and loves her very much...they have a good relationship/understanding with each other. I have even caught her sneaking him some of her snacks and veggies (which is hilarious becuase I don't think he would even eat veggies if I gave them to him, but from her I guess he thinks it's special).

Pretty chica in her necklace and bracelett...and super cute outfit from Jolene and Gerric..."que bella!!"

Had to include this picture because it is hilarious! We got these clothes from Robert's partner at work who got them from her aunt...and some of them are super cute, but some of them are just weird. As you can see above, (just the pants not the shirt)...are really high waisted. Hey they were free and they are comfortable cotton, so she wears them at night and looks like a nerd. We lovingly nicknamed them her "nargies" since the brand name is very long and south african and we have no idea how to actually pronounce it...but "nargie" is very fun to say...so instead of "go get into your PJs" at night, we say "go get into your nargies lexy! ;)

Mommy's Back to Work

For those of you that haven't heard by now (reason for my delayed blogging action) I have been blessed with the opportunity to work from home, doing what I used to do at Mervyns, but now working for Vanity Fair Brands. It is definately an opportunity of a lifetime I think because I am able to stay home with my little chica and get to use my gown-up brain (not that I was bored before...but I was heading there) and, oh ya, make some good money as well! ;)

I thought about it a lot when I was offered the job....I am great at multi tasking, but come on...can I work and take care of her? Turns out after working out the kinks for a month now I have set up a new routine. First of all, I have the best boss in the world (which is mainly why I took the job) who is very flexible when it comes to working hours. So after trying to figure out what works best for me and Lexy, I am working early in the morning 6-12 (our headquarters are in Atlanta so they are working at east coast time and this is great for them too) and then from 5-8pm (right before lexy's bedtime and when robert gets home). Obviously if needed, I can work whenever I want to catch up on things and finish projects etc., but this is my new set schedule which is working out great!

It's definately a new routine, one that is a learning curve for all of us, to be working again. Alexya is trying to understand why mommy spends hours staring at a laptop screen, while she is playing and used to get my attention 100% of the time. Robert is working as well and now is back to helping me clean the house and take care of Lexy while I work. We are all adjusting, but it's definately a great arrangement and opportunity, like I keep saying, because it was getting tight in the $$ dept. and this is a breath of fresh air! Like I said before, we are truely blessed. :)

Here's Lexy piling her toys into her basket on her car...so she can take them with her on her ride (thanks for letting us borrow it Catherine!). She finally figured out how to climb on it and sit, but still not how to push herself around. She sits on it and rocks back and forth and waits for one of us to push her around the room. She does, however, make very good car/motorboat sound effects by blowing her lips together while you push her!

Here she is in her new outfit/PJs from great auntie rachel. She loves how soft they are and they keep her warm and also match her jewelry! She puts her arm out for you to wrap the necklaces around like a bracelett and then you have to say "que bella" which is spanish for how beautiful and she will smile and walk around the room, making sure to keep her arm straight so that the jewelry doesn't slide off! So funny this chica!
