Alexya Hernandez

Thank you to Debbie for updating my blog with the good news! We were in shock when we heard the doctor say it was a girl...because all of the old wives tales (you know the ones where if you carry low it's a boy or if you don't have much morning sickness it's a boy etc.) pointed to it being a boy. Well, we all learned a valuable lesson...don't listen to the old wives because they are wrong! :)

It was cool to see Alexya in the ultrasound again...and once again she was wiggling and squirming and spinning around so much that the doctor even scolded her with "stop moving. Where are you trying to go? There's no where for you to go!" I was laughing because this chick is always thrashing around on the screen! Thank goodness I can't feel anything yet! She will definately be playing sports...so her aunt Lauryn can teach her soccer and basketball, and maybe Lauryn and Jenna can teach her some volleyball. We are currently taking volunteers to teach her softball.....(john or grandpa mike??) I will do my best to make sure she watches enough sports center.

Well, another update is that Candice came over last thursday and helped Robert paint the baby's room and then Caleb came over the next day and helped Robert finish it. It looks so beautiful in all it's honey yellow glory..now we are just waiting to put up the A's border and get some green bedding and white furniture in there!....Who's buying her the A's mobile??!!?? :)

We went to Clearlake on Saturday just for the day for the 4th of July celebration. We got there late so we missed the parade, but we got to take Toretto for another swim in the lake and he had a blast! I also got to model my giagantic belly in all it's glory and take a dip in the lake..which felt so weird by the way. I couldn't really get comfortable showing the world my belly so I kept it covered most of the time...but Cheryl saw me w/o my cover on and came running over and told me that I looked great..like a movie star because that's the in thing right now to be pregnant and show your belly in a swimsuit..so I felt so much better! Grandpa and John BBQed hamburgers and hotdogs and we had a huge feast on the lake and played cards. We all had a great time..too bad it was a short visit. Toretto and I slept the entire day yesterday to recover. :)
