Tinkerbell's 1st Trick or Treat

We had a great Halloween this year! Alexya got all dressed up as Tinkerbell (complete with tin foil wrapped straw/wand which didn't make it in the pictures). We got to give out candy at Grandma's house and then go trick or treating when daddy got home from work. She got to see all the kids running around the street in their costumes and she was totally in awe of them and curious as to why they were laughing and running and looking so weird!
It was so much fun taking her from door to door! Way more fun than I had anticipated because Alexya actually had fun. She was so cute... the person would open the door and mommy and daddy would say "trick or treat" and the person would give Lexy a piece of candy and she would stare at them and just hold onto the candy like a treasure. Then after we walked away from the door I would hold out her pumpkin bag and say "put it in your bag" and she would just drop it in. Then onto the next house...she would point her wand and scream out in excitement! It was too cute and I was getting emotional and trying not to cry and let Robert see I was tearing up....geeze..I know I know...but I didn't think it would be so fun for her and it hit me so hard that I'm taking my daughter out for her first trick or treating experience. Even Robert had fun..still in his EMT uniform, straight from work, and so proud holding his little squealing tinkerbell daughter.

Now how am I gonna eat all this candy? (75 bags that grandma made to hand out to the kids!)

Lexy's 1st Pumpkin Carving!

We all went up to Grandma and Grandpa's country house on Monday to carve pumpkins for Halloween. Alexya's cousins Riley and Christopher were there to carve pumpkins too and Grandma even made pumpkin cookies for everyone that were delicious! Grandpa had planted the pumpkin seeds during our visit on Memorial day weekend in May and they had turned out great as you can see! Lexy got to pick a new pumpkin, since there were 'complications' with hers (don't ask ;)). So of course she wants THIS one...which is about her size and the biggest pumpkin...No Lexy, not that one...

What about THIS one that grandpa carved and looks so cool??...No Lexy, not that one either...

What about THIS one that's the smallest pumpkin of all and daddy and mommy carved it???

YES Lexy, you can have THAT one! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for the greatest pumpkin carving experience! :)

Come Play With Me!

Thanks for the cute outfit Debbie! (It's a peasant blouse w/ matching brown cords) Well, here her sock is pulled up chola style, but she's having fun with her toys at grandma and grandpa's house.

Here's Lexy with Grandma (and you can see the outfit better :)) They are having some puffs and hanging out after a long hard day of shopping at the mall....hehehe

I love this picture cause I love the looks on both Lexy and grandpa's faces. So cute. He stopped by to visit and play in Lexy land and we all went out to lunch at the brand new mexican restaurant by our house...which is now our favorite! If you come visit we will take you there! hint hint... come visit...

Ok, ok take a close look at this one...yes those are curlers in her hair! Daddy thought it would be fun to put them in her hair...and as you can see...doesn't matter to her! As long as she is in daddy's arms she's content. :)

The Many Faces of Lexy

Ya, I'm pushing my bear around and walking. Thanks again Catherine...she loves this thing!!

Lexy updates include:
She's doing this fake laugh thing which is so funny because it's not her real laugh, it's a fake one that sounds like she's trying to copy my laugh.
She's learned to say "dada" now and says it NON-STOP for everything. She even gets real loud if you don't talk back to her.
She's shaking her head back and forth like she's saying No, but keeps her mouth open and smiles when she does it so she looks hilarious!
She loves reading her books (don't tell her she can't because she gets them out and opens them and as she turns the pages you can hear her mumbling and making sounds like she's reading the story).
And finally, as you can see, she has the funniest expressions lately!

Here's Lexy in her new Elmo overalls that Dad picked out. So cute in them you want to sqeeze her non-stop.

You baby...that's right.. Pointing is her thing now...and wearing dad's shirt, she's just extra cool.

Like father like daughter...kinda scary sometimes...

Play Date with Friends!

Last Thursday Lexy had her first play date with other kids her age. My friend Catherine was kind enough to have us over to her house in Dublin and play with Thomas, her son who is almost 2, and our new friend Laila, daughter of a friend from ex-work mervyns. At first Lexy was very quiet and not sure how to act around someone her size, but it didn't take long for her to loosen up and have a lot of fun with her friends! Thomas is such a good example for Alexya because he is walking and talking and even knows his alphabet very well! He shares his toys and loved feeding Lexy cheerios! They were so cute to watch! :) Also, amazingly....after the play date...later that day, Lexy decided to stand up without holding onto anything for the first time!! She did it for like 5 seconds! So exciting! Also, Catherine loned us a walking/bike toy that Lexy pushes around now and can practice walking...she is getting so confident that it shouldn't be long now! Thanks Catherine!

Lexy also got to meet a new friend Laila, who is a month and a half older than her, and like Thomas, is good at saying "dada" and other words. Then today for the first time Lexy said "dada" over and over to robert even pointing at him! So thanks Laila and Thomas!

Oh and that reminds me that everyone is invited to Alexya's 1 year birthday party!! I will be sending out an evite and if you don't get it it means I don't have your email or have the wrong one so please let me know if you don't get it by Nov...and mark the date on your calendar for Saturday, Nov 24th (sat after Thanksgiving). We hope everyone can at least stop by to say hi and see Lexy cause she is growing so fast! :)

Lexy and Thomas first hand holding! So cute!

Rainy Day Games

Since the weather has been wacko lately, we've been playing games inside (one day in trundles and the next in shorts and a tank top!)
Here's Lexy showing you her puppy game...where she carries something in her mouth around the house like a puppy (hmmmm...where did she learn that one?)

Daddy lined up all my stuffed animals to watch us play!

Here is Lexy, now 10 months old and too big to jump in her jungle jumper anymore :(... wait, that won't stop her from playing in it!...well, the top half anyway... ;)

Fun Games at Home

Since we had a ton of candy left over from the pinata...lexy has found some new toys! She loves shaking the boxes of hot tamales and mike 'n ikes. She loves them so much that they have been her favorite toys for the past week...she won't even put them down while crawling...she just uses her elbows as you can see! She also loves the leftover balloons because they are fun to throw around (and they are so deflated they don't pop).

Diaper changes are 'fun' now...she will roll back and forth and arch her back in order to make it very difficult. The whole time she thinks it is so funny because she is smiling and even laughing (not so fun for mom and dad let me tell you grrrrr).

Pressing her face against the glass is fun too! Thanks auntie Candice for the adorable "cupcake" trundle. These are coming in handy as it is getting cold now. It's weird though, we had to go to 3 different stores looking for ones that had grip on the feet so she won't slide when standing up on the hard floor. They seem to only put them on the bigger sizes...whatever people! So we ended up buying two w/o feet and then socks w/grip. ;)
Other new things she is doing include kisses: these started a while ago, but then they died down and now they are back w/ a vengence! She is kissing pictures in books, the window, the couch, the floor, her toys and sometimes even mom and dad (and if she could catch a kitty...)
She is very good at saying "kitty" whenever she sees a cat including a tiger on tv or in a book or in the house she says "kitty" in this high pitched squeeky voice (which is how I say it...so it's not weird, unless I'm weird...anyway)
She has just learned how to point! Which is so great because now when she wants something she points at it and we know what she wants. It's cute too because sometimes she will point at me or robert and we point back at her and she loves it.
She likes to alternate feedings...like we have 2 spoons and I will give her a bite from my spoon (w/ food on it) and she will give me a bite from her spoon (w/imaginary food on it). And she has the biggest, stupidest, most adorable open mouth smile (sometimes w/food showing) the whole time.
The last thing...I think I mentioned before...she is dancing. She will get excited or hear a song and start bopping up and down bending her knees and we say "go boogy go, go, go, go, go" and she does it faster and then she sticks her butt out and goes left to right bopping it up and down! Robert even caught her bending down to grab something in the middle of a dance and so she stayed bent down and had her butt in the air and was bopping her butt up and down!! So funny! I swear, it's never ending with the new things she is doing and it is so great to experience all this! I am so lucky.

30 Years Old!

So I turned the big 30 on friday and had the best birthday!! Friday night Robert took me to an A's game and we had great GREAT seats! We were in the 4th row from the field and looking straight at 1st base!! The players were so close you could yell at them and they would hear you and could SEE you! I was star struck big time! We had such a good time because the A's came back from being down by 6 runs in the 3rd inning to rally with 9 runs (7 of which were all in one inning)! So it was very exciting and long which was perfect! My dad and Lauryn went too, but they had decided last minute so they had bleacher seats until the end of the game we had them come sit with us. Such a great time!

Then my birthday party was on Saturday and Robert did ALL the planning (which is a very big deal) which included a BBQ and even a pinata at the end (which everyone got a crack at!! so funny!!! we video taped it!) It was so much fun and everyone had a great time and I was suprised to get some gifts too. I got a gift card from my dad which I used to buy the perfect zip up A's sweat shirt at the game (which i'm not putting a pic up because I will probably be wearing it in every pic I put up after this once it gets cold).

Here are the necklaces I got: first a best friends one from Lauryn (i'm best); then a dog tag style one from theresa and frank that has lexy's picture on one side and the A's logo on the other; and a silver one and matching bracelette from sushuma. I love them all!! Thanks again you guys!! :)

I got this awesome T-shirt from Chris that is so perfect!! Well, it's perfect for die hard fans like me! (I wore it sunday and it almost helped us beat the Broncos!!)

Here are most of the cards I got...I just wanted to put them up because I was overwhelmed by how many I got and I wanted to thank everyone!! This was one of the best birthdays ever and I feel so much happier turning 30 when I have such great family and friends to share it with (ok sorry, but you know I'm mushy). :)

A VIsit to the Country

This has been a very fun and busy past week! We went to visit my parents in Browns Valley (middle of nowhere sort of near marysville highway 20ish) where Lexy got to experience country living. She got to see wild turkeys and pumpkins and lots of canaries and two little dogs that scare her only when they "sound the alarm" by barking if they hear something outside. She got to take long naps (like 2-3 hours long!!) and discover a large house with lots of fun toys and exciting grandparents to play with! Here she is playing with grandma: laughing so hard because she was sharing her teething ring with someone that she got the hiccups.

Here she is discovering the wonderful world of DVDs! Total Recal was the winner because it had a red tin case she could band and play with. Oh, and no, she didn't put them all away...

Here's Lexy watching her video with grandpa. A very comfortable and cozy seat..everyone likes to cuddle with grandpa!

And for the grand finale... "the face"
Alexya went for a swim in a little wading pool that grandma bought her...and while grandpa was taking pictures she decided that she would give him the snarl/robert face. I'm going to try to take a picture of Robert making the same face and put it up too so you can all freak out with me.
